| Here we go, it’s time for some BASEBALL. This game will follow the same design as our NFL Pool game. This will be a head to head game. In this game, you pick 7 teams for the week, one for each of 7 different categories. The categories will be: HRs, Total Bases, Hits, RBI’s, Strikeouts (pitching), Earned Runs (pitching), Wins. You cannot repeat a team in any 2 categories. | |||||||||||||||||
| In order to eliminate some of the ties, we will us the following tie breaker: | |||||||||||||||||
| With each pick you make each week, you will also enter in a total you think your pick will get in each category. If either of you or your opponent pick the same teams, the one’s whose guess is the closest to the actual total will get the win (over or under). If a tie still exist, it will be considered an actual tie. If you and your opponent pick different teams and both teams have the same total, this will be considered a tie. This should cut down on the huge amount of ties. | |||||||||||||||||
| For example, let's say I pick: | |||||||||||||||||
| HR: Boston - 10 | |||||||||||||||||
| Total Bases: Seattle - 102 | |||||||||||||||||
| Hits: Colorado - 56 | |||||||||||||||||
| RBI’s: Arizona - 35 | |||||||||||||||||
| Strikeouts: Atlanta - 42 | |||||||||||||||||
| Earned Runs: Houston - 2.45 Note: Earned Runs would be the team giving up the least. | |||||||||||||||||
| Wins: New York Yankees - 5 | |||||||||||||||||
| My opponent also picks seven, and we have wins, losses, and ties. If both players pick the same team in any category, we would then use the tie breaker as listed above. If my team in a given category has more of whatever it is than my opponents' team in that category, I get 1 Win. | |||||||||||||||||
| We will score this game like Yahoo scores its games, in that each category would be worth a "Win", and your "record" for the week would be something like 4-3-0. | |||||||||||||||||
| The season will last 24 weeks (taking off the week of the all star game(7/14 thru 7/20)) and each week will be from Monday to Sunday. The first week will start on Sunday, Mar.30th and end on Sunday, Apr.6th(8 days) and the last week will start on Monday, Sept.22nd and end on Sunday, Apr.28th. The season will be broken up into 2 halves of 10 weeks each. The playoffs will start with Week 21. | |||||||||||||||||
| The league will be structure more like old-time baseball for this game. There will be two giant leagues (Skydiving and Meatloaf) with 18 teams max in each league (36 teams max.). There will be three divisions in each league. You will be playing Head to Head against everyone in your league. | |||||||||||||||||
| All picks will be due by midnight Friday of each week. Players not sending in picks will have their picks rolled over from the previous week. Reminders will be sent out each week. | |||||||||||||||||
| Playoffs: Week 21 to Week 25 | |||||||||||||||||
| The playoffs will consist of 16 teams, 8 from each league. Each division leader will be in the playoffs along with the team with the next best records (Wildcards) from each league from each half. (No team will get more than 1 playoff spot) The playoffs will start with Week 21 and conclude with the World Series with Week 24 & 25 (Combined scores). | |||||||||||||||||
| In order to eliminate ties, we have come up with a tie breaker. The tie breaker will be as follows: | |||||||||||||||||
| If a tie record still exist, which could happen if both players have the same guess which is used to break a tie, than we will use the following tie breakers: the team who wins the ERA category goes on, if a tie still exist, than the team who wins the Total Bases category goes on. | |||||||||||||||||
